There will be an Archery Field Day course on August 1st from 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM. Students will need to complete the online portion before attending the field day https://www.bowhunter-ed.com/northdakota/. *Students under the age of 18, please have your guardian present at the beginning of class to sign the Student Registration Card. You may start the online portion at any time prior to this date and must be completed prior to August 1st. We suggest waiting until the week of the class to finish and pay; because the online course certificate is good for one year. Note: Please bring certificate of completion for the online course and students are encouraged to bring their own archery equipment for the shot placement portion of the class. Please dress appropriately (pants and hiking/hunting boots) and mosquito repellent might be appropriate for the game tracking portion of the event.

The North Dakota Cooperative Fur Harvester Education Program is sponsoring a fur harvester education class for anyone interested in trapping or hunting furbearers. A course in Bismarck is set for Aug. 6 (5-9:00 PM), Aug. 8 (5-9:00 PM), and Aug. 10 (8:00 AM 4:00 PM). The course is free and takes 16 hours to complete. Students will learn the history of the fur trade in the Dakotas, furbearer identification, tools and techniques for harvesting furbearers in North Dakota, as well as proper handling (skinning, fleshing and boarding) of furbearers. Upon completion, graduates are issued a certification card that is recognized by any state requiring trapper education prior to purchasing a license. Home Study: Students must be 16 years or older. The Home Study course will meet on August 12th from 6:00 pm- 9:00pm. Students will then complete the online portion (https://www.hunter-ed.com/northdakota/). When completed they will have to pass the online exam, pay the fee and print the certificate. The last night of class will meet on August 26th from 6:00pm-9:00pm. Students will take a written exam and demonstrate safe firearm handling. Must attend all days of class to pass.
