Drivers License Renewal System

Drivers License Renewal System

This system provides North Dakota drivers the ability to renew their drivers license online. First time REAL ID applicants must renew in person.

The new license will ONLY be sent to the mailing address on your driver record, unless you select the address change option and provide the appropriate documents. No Refunds.

Please allow 10 business days for processing.

The online system is not available if any of these apply to you:

  • Age 70 or older
  • If any information has changed from what appears on your current license, other than address
  • You have renewed online previously (This option is available every other renewal cycle only)

VISION

If you currently have a Restriction 1, 2, or 5 on your drivers license, vision screening information is required.

  • Results cannot be older than 6 months. (NOTE: An eyeglass prescription will not be accepted)
  • You must attach (scan) the Vision Screening Results form or other vision screening documentation you may have.

Commercial Applicants (Class A, AM, B, BM, C or CM)

Commercial applicants are required to submit North Dakota's Certificate of Vision Examination (SFN 2342) with their renewal per Federal Guidelines.
